Met Gala 2026: Our Favourite Looks

Every year, the Met Gala gives us a memorable night of fashion. As celebrities walked the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, we were reminded of one key thing: fashion is art.

The theme of this year’s Met Gala was, fittingly, “Costume Art”. Celebrities such as Sabrina Carpenter, Hudson Williams, A$AP Rocky, and Anne Hathaway stunned in their designer looks and continued to raise the bar when it comes to Met Gala fashion.

Today, we want to admire and appreciate some of our favourite looks from the 77th edition of the Met Gala.

Sabrina Carpenter

Please, Please, Please look at this old Hollywood-inspired dress made out of celluloid film strips from pop star Sabrina Carpenter. What film is the dress made out of? It’s no coincidence – the film strips are from the 1954 film “Sabrina”.

Charli xcx

Charli xcx ditched her “Brat” green for an elegant and sophisticated Saint Laurent black gown featuring a floral embellishment inspired by Vincent Van Gogh.

Anok Yai

The Sudanese American model collaborated with Balenciaga creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli to “send a message” through the Black Madonna. Blending both the fashion world and the art world, Yai’s entire look was created to resemble that of a statue – including prosthetic hair and a stoic expression.

A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky wore a dapper pink Chanel outfit complete with a custom woll cape and clean finish. The craftsmanship of his look took 194 hours to create. That’s dedication to fit & style!

Rihanna

Not to be outdone by her date, Rihanna’s outfit took 1,380 hours for the embroidery alone! Wearing a custom sculptural Mason Margiela piece inspired by medieval architecture, the gown was sculpted by hand and in woven silk, with recycled metal threads. The bodice alone features 115,000 crystal beads, antique jewels, and chains.

SZA

Emily Adams Bode Aujla, the designer of this gown, teamed up with Vogue & eBay to create a look that was entirely soured from the online marketplace. SZA wanted her look to be tied to “her own whimsical personal narrative” while still having art-based historical significance. I think we can say that this dress is anything but a snooze.

Anne Hathaway

The “Devil Wears Prada 2” & “Mother Mary” star took a break from red carpets to grace us with this look on the Met Gala stairs. Hathaway’s Michael Kors Collection gown was hand-painted by artist Peter McGough. The front of the gown features a hand reaching out to a dove while the back features the Goddess of Peace.

Hudson Williams

After breaking onto the scene in Heated Rivalry, Hudson Williams has become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after stars. Just like on the ice, his Met Gala debut was a winner. This matador-like look features a long trail for a dramatic look and makeup inspired by the film “Black Swan”.
